on oakland road. police say at 3:00 a.m. this morning, they received a 911 call from someone saying a man had been stabbed. they arrived and were told by witnesses that during a party a fight broke out and a man was stabbed once in the stomach. he was rushed to the hospital but died. police are still trying to figure out what the argument was about. >> we don't have any motive for the homicide. but we are actively investigation. we are investigating the incident this morning. >> reporter: police tell us the victim was 30 years old. he's not been identified because they are trying to get in touch with his family. now, we were told that by -- by one of the guests that this was a graduation party but that guest wouldn't tell us much more than that. we do know there was about 20 to 30 people in attendance. the homicide unit has been out here on the scene gathering evidence. but police would still like to talk to witnesses who left the scene before they arrived. back out here live, you can see here's -- we're in a business park and the building is right next door where the latest homicide happened

the kidnapping and rape of an autistic teenage girl who walked away from a group home in oakland. ktvu's heather holmes is live at opd headquarters and tells us how police tracked down the alleged attacker and what she's learned about the man's past. heather. >> reporter: police tell me that surveillance cameras at the fruitvale station caught the man and they knew he was their suspect. so when he showed back in the area on sunday officers arrested him and these court documents that we obtained they detail the three day ordeal involving kidnap and rape. the severely autistic boy walked out of the fred finch youth center last tuesday and police say right into the hands of a predator. >> this is by far one of the most sickening cases i've seen in my career as a police officer that someone can take advantage of someone of this stature. >> reporter: that one is gary atkinson of san francisco. he was charged with kidnapping and rape. >> the child was resilient. she assisted the investigators in this case and we're proud of her courage. >> reporter: the 16-year-old who is autistic left her home and k

fairfield. otherwise a lot of low 40s. 42 in fremont and 43 in oakland. so weather headlines for you, obviously a very chilly start. these temperatures are 10 to 20 degrees cooler than what we saw at this time yesterday morning in some spots. it's going to be a cool afternoon and for the most part the rain should clear. still about a 20% chance of some light showers mainly along the coast. and then yes, even cooler still tonight where we have some freeze advisories in effect for parts of the north bay. we'll get to that in a minute. low pressure is the name of the game for the next couple of days. breezy conditions and once again, the rain for the most part has now moved east so it looks like we're staying dry. check out our futurecast here. it looks a little unsettled by about lunchtime. mainly along the coast. even that looks like mainly the rain is staying offshore and we are clearing overnight tonight and that's what's going to keep temperatures cool. we had several frost advisories in effect. so it's going to be colder still by this time tomorrow morning. for your afternoon, you

the oakland a's into downtown san francisco. it is actually moving well. -- oakland may ease thze. the goldn gate you can see they're so good wet roads out there, make sure you're being extra careful on wet roads. it easy to me between the north bay in downtown sambar's as go. traffic maps show no hot spots but it is picking up regular slow commute traffic coming out of tracy threw the all to my and into livermore. it is heavy from 2052 livermore ave. it moves well as you make the connection and 2680. south bay, no major accident but you can see yellow on the 1 01 that is northbound traffic headed to san jose torres mountain view. give yourself extra time this morning before you head out the door. >> chevron officials say a small fire at its refinery in richmond evening yesterday is nothing to be alarmed about. a spokesperson confirmed that the where was that as a precaution. it was a small flareup and no shelter and place orders were needed. the rich the refinery was the site of a major fire in august when leaking fumes from a pipe ignited sending thick black smoke into the air. thousands o

here is a look at the approach to the bay bridge toll plaza sailing out of oakland into the city. at the san mateo bridge westbound traffic towards foster city is good. south bound 101 good to go no delays to talk about coming out of the north bay. guys. >> very good erica we will continue our coverage of the storm and the after affects as we wait for the next round. we have 4200 pg&e customers without power. following the combined rains friday saturday and sunday. pg&e is working around the clock to restore power as best they can. they expect for restoration later today. let us from the numbers. the majority in the north bay. 1300 customers there. 1100 in the south bay. roughly 900 in the east bay. 700 on the peninsula and about 60 customers in san francisco. more than 320,000 customers lost power since last thursday. as you can see pg&e has done great work in the vast majority of customers back on. and again for restoration today. >> 3 firefighters are in serious but stable condition after they were involved in a weather-related accident on highway 24 in iran the. east of wilde

at the temperatures we have forties' and '50s 49 out the door for concord pleasanton. 50 in oakland. there afternoon highs plenty of low 60s. another cold day ground the bay area. 634 oakland. 62 for san mateo and hayward. here is the wet weather we are tracking on satellite and radar you can see most of the moisture sitting over northern california. this is slow moving. it will start to stall out and not be as intense as it bay area. you can see on futurecast 4:09 a.m. later to day light rain picking up from palo. 2:00 p.m. today it will stick north of the golden gate. 2:00 a.m. the overnight hours of light rain it looks like it picks up intensity tomorrow morning and will spread its way south as we head into tomorrow afternoon. your kron 4 7 day around the bay forecast is showing showers from maybe the next 24 hours. after that pretty good conditions. dry conditions around the bay area. we will continue with mild weather as we head into the weekend. that is your weather here in the traffic center. not looking at any hot spots the bay bridge ride is good to go out of oakland into san francisco. ver
